Worlds of Clay
PlantCult and LIRA (AUTH) hosted a very stimulating workshop at the Casts Museum of the Department of Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Worlds of Clay attracted many undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers and archaeologists of the Greek archaeological service.
At the centre of the meeting was the analytical power of petrographic analysis. Participants had the chance to learn recent advances in the investigation of cooking ceramic technologies of early farmers of Greece, identity and contact networks. Diversity in Neolithic production contrasted strongly with the centralised production of the terracota army of China.
